How I use Essential Oils

As you guys know, I like toxic free products that actually WORK! It is somewhat hard to find products that actually meet both criteria but I feel like I have hit the jackpot and I can't wait to share it with you all!

I was introduced to the power of essential oils when mom was sick, but I don't think I fully understood their benefits. I used a diffuser and diffused the oils because it "smelled good" but that was the extent of my oil usage. In mid August my oil supply ran out and I needed to re-stock. Enter Young Living. I did some research and found that Young Living's mission and products spoke the most to me, so I dove in and ordered a premium starter kit which comes with 11 oils, a diffuser and other goodies. I can easily say this was one of the best purchases I have ever made.

So first I want to educate you a little about Young Living so you know exactly what it is that I love so much. Young Living started over 20 years ago and is known for their 100% pure essential oils. The reason Young Living is so popular is plain and simple- they make the best oils around. Young Living has an unmatched Seed to Seal process to guarantee the purity and potency of every oil. Each batch of oils is rigorously tested in house for therapeutic viability, and they are so confident in their products that you can actually visit the farms and participate in the harvest/distillation process (kind of like dropping in on your child care provider unannounced :)

What do I use oils for?

Honestly, just about everything (and my husband- who is a tough critic- may like them more than I do!). Whether you are looking for oils to help you sleep, for immune support, for energy, focus, relaxation, natural alternatives to cleaning products (one of my favorite uses) or for your kids , there is an oil for that.

How do I use oils?

I diffuse them daily which is great for making my house smell good, helping me and my family relax (kids included), getting rid of nasty odors in the house and more. I also apply topically (some require a carrier oil) for hormone support, pain and glowing skin. I have made a rollerball combo to help with the varicose veins in my leg from pregnancy and I am pleasantly surprised at the results I am getting. Some oils are ingestible and I use them in my water (hello lemon or lime water), immune support, and some help with digestion. Essentially, I use them in almost every aspect of my life and I am slowly finding that I really enjoy using them. I also use Young Living's products on my children (shampoo and soap), and I am slowly replacing my toxic chemical laden cleaning supplies with non-toxic options. After wyatt broke out in hives after accidentally spraying a kids hair product on his face, this decision was a no brainer for me.

How do I become a member of Young Living?

You become a member when you buy a premium starter kit (like I did). A premium starter kit, which comes with 11 of the most commonly used oils + your diffuser, is the best value and comes with everything you need to get started. You'll get over $300 worth of product for $160.

I can honestly say every product I have tried with this company has exceeded my expectations and I truly believe they have helped my family stay healthy during this nasty flu season. As always, if you have questions about how to use oils in your daily life, let me know! I would love to talk to you about them!
